The pages in this section give additional details about each binary package available as well as more direct download links. In addition, you can download source tarballs and pgAgent for your servers to enable additional functionality.
When you install an update for the Microsoft .NET Framework 4, the Native Image Generator (NGen.exe) uses a high percentage of the CPU cycles on the computer for a long time. This time varies with how many Native Images are installed on the computer.
Updates to the .NET Framework 4 require a complete regeneration of the Native Image Cache, a very time-consuming operation. For some computers, an interaction with previously installed Native Images may cause Native Image regeneration to take much longer than expected. Although this issue only affects setup times, the effect can be several minutes to tens of minutes. Computers that have more Native Images installed will see longer generation times.
To work around this problem, you may be able to reduce Native Image Generation times somewhat by forcing NGen.exe to generate new Native Images without regard for what was previously generated. To improve regeneration times, immediately before you install the .NET Framework 4 update, open an elevated command prompt and run the following commands.Important Run these commands immediately before you apply the update. Otherwise, these commands are less effective. On a computer that is running a 32-bit Windows operating system

Different versions of Microsoft SQL Server have different .NET Framework versions as a prerequisite for setup, and the procedure to install the .NET Framework may be different on different operating systems. For newer versions of SQL Server, this information is covered as part of Hardware and Software Requirements articles as listed below:
For versions SQL Server 2008R2 and earlier, the .NET Framework requirements vary based on the edition of SQL Server that you're installing. This article describes these requirements and gives you the necessary information so that you can install the correct .NET Framework that is required.
The following table summarizes the .NET Framework version requirements for various versions and Editions of SQL Server and explains whether the product is included with setup media and whether it's installed as part of setup.
For SQL Server 2008 and for SQL Server 2008 R2 Failover Cluster and Express Edition installations, the Setup program doesn't install the .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 on systems that run Windows Server 2008 R2 Edition. For more information about how to enable the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 on these systems, see the How to install or enable .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 on Windows section.
The following table indicates whether the .NET Framework that is required for the SQL Edition and version that you're installing is included as part of the target operating system. The table also indicates whether any additional steps are required to install or enable the Framework on the corresponding operating system and the table provides a download link for the corresponding .NET Framework redistributable files.
In Windows Server 2008 R2, the .NET Framework is a feature, and installing it's different than previous versions of the Windows operating system. The following procedure explains how to verify that the .NET Framework 3.5.1 is installed. The procedure also explains how to determine whether the .NET Framework isn't installed and how you can add it in these environments.
A single download installer can be used to install the latest version of GSAS-II. To install GSAS-II on a computer not connected to the internet, download this file and move it to desired computer; running it will install a working, but slightly out-of-date GSAS-II version. Note that this requires Windows-8 or Windows-10. For older versions of Windows, see links on this page.
Run the downloaded file (gsas2full-*.exe). This can be done by pressing the "Run" button in the web browser, if your browser provides that option or you may need to double-click on the file once downloaded. You will likely see some sort of message protecting you from this "unknown and possibly malicious app" as below. This may be different depending on what antivirus software is installed on your computer. It is possible that you may need help from your local system administrators, etc. to run a downloaded .exe file.
After that the message changes to "Running post install..." and a cmd.exe (terminal) window opens with text and requesting input, as seen below. (Note that if you are working in other programs, it is possible for this window to be obscured; you may need to look for it.) Here you will be asked for internet Proxy information. For the vast majority of users, no proxy is needed and one can just press Enter. Even if a proxy is needed, this information can be entered later once GSAS-II has been installed. 041b061a72
