Mac Os X Lion App Store Link

Another option is to peruse the Apple Vintage Software collection at Archive.org which may have image files of older system restore disks and other older system software, just beware that archive.org is not an official distributor of Apple software so appropriate precautions should be taken and only download from there at your own risk.

Mac Os X Lion App Store Link

I recently had my computer brought to the the Genius Bar, and they installed a copy of OS X Snow Leopard onto my computer. However, I was previously running Lion. So I went over to the Mac App Store to try and reinstall Lion, and it keeps telling me that the item I've requested is not available in the U.S. Store. Is there any way I can resolve the issue? I've tried switching stores and had no luck.

It is also possible to access the Mojave installer via this link to the Mac App Store. Note that as above, for this link to work you need to be running Safari and you need to close the Mac App Store app first. If the Mac App Store app is open this redirect will not work.

However, when Apple introduced Mojave the Mac App Store changed, and these installers can no longer be searched for or found in the purchased section of the store. (Although we do have redirect links in the section above to each of the relevant pages on the Mac App Store.)

Lion was released to manufacturing on July 1, 2011,[11] followed by its final release via the Mac App Store on July 20, 2011. Apple reported over one million Lion sales on the first day of its release.[12] As of October 2011[update], OS X Lion had sold over six million copies worldwide.[13]

Apple later announced two alternative distribution mechanisms for the benefit of users without broadband Internet access: in-store downloads at retail Apple Stores, and a USB flash drive containing the OS, priced at US$69, available through the online Apple Store beginning in August.[2] On August 4, 2011, Apple started to take orders for OS X Lion's USB installation flash drives for $69.99.[19]

In July 2012, Lion was removed from the Mac App Store and retail Apple stores following the release of OS X Mountain Lion.[21] Following the removal of Lion from the Mac App Store, customers could still purchase Lion by phone at the reduced price of $20.[22] In October 2013, Lion was returned to the Apple Store website concurrently with Mountain Lion following the release of OS X Mavericks for the convenience of users who cannot run Mavericks on older Mac models.[23]

When I try to get the High Sierra or Mojave installers, the link takes me to a page where the link only takes me to the app store where those installers do not appear anywhere that I can see. The links for El Capitan, Sierra, and Yosemite got me to a page where I could download a dmg so those seem to work.

As others have noted High Sierra and Mojave are obtained via the App Store. I am still using El Capitan but had older copies of High Sierra and Mojave stored on my computer for future consideration. The App Store wanted to open these copies so I had to trash them before the updated copies would download.

In the High Sierra App Store, I get a download button for my purchases. It does not show up in a search, which is where I would get the GET button. I played around with the option, ctrl and command buttons, but no option to get the link.

The article lists the Apple support documents for installing Yosemite, El Capitan, Sierra, High Sierra, Mojave and Catalina. Each of the support documents has links to the installers, and according to the senior AppleCare advisor those links are the official way to obtain the installers.

I got them all to download, except High Sierra. On the app store page for HS I got an Open button, even though I had unmounted my archive volume that contained the HS installer. So I used the macOS High Sierra Patcher tool as you directed, getting the installer download instruction from the Tools menu. Great app. High Sierra was them downloaded to my specified location. So now I have updated apps for all the macOS X installers in your list. However, this was the only one, besides Mojave, that downloaded the app. The other links downloaded dmg copies, which do not contain the usual installer app. So I retained the apps for Mojave, El Capitan and Yosemite.

Simply open an info window and control-click on the model's name and select "Copy Link" from the menu that appears. This will place a link to this model into the Clipboard where it could be copied into a web page or email. The user clicking on the link will need to have Mactracker 4.1 (macOS) or Mactracker 4.0 (iOS) or later installed.

Luckily I had one old external hard drive lying around that had been used as a TimeMachine backup disk on a similar Macbook Pro and it had a nice working backup image of the system. I restored on the other troubled Macbook Pro using these backups. I had to remove some old user accounts and do some other cleanup tasks too, but in the end I managed to get it working nicely.

Another fix is to check which Apple store you are connected to, I found I was connected to Apple store Hong Kong (recently visited), as soon as I logged back into Apple store UK the two updates that had refused to download for weeks downloaded successfully.

If none of the options to get older OS X worked, pay a visit to nearest local Apple Store. They should have image installations going back to OS Leopard and earlier. You can also ask their assistance to create a bootable USB drive with the installation file. So here you are. We hope this article has helped you to download an old version of Mac OS X. Below are a few more links you may find interesting.
